As to diseases, make a habit of two things — to help, or at least to do no harm.

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE SAFE?

In past years, Chiropractic safety has been misunderstood by most practitioners. Traditional medical doctors, surgeons, and physical therapists have popularized the opinion that chiropractic adjustments, especially of the neck vertebral segments, may be dangerous and high risk. This opinion becomes increasingly shocking, considering that almost 500,000 Americans die every year due to medical error - the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S. The most recent science has confirmed via systematic reviews (the strongest type of evidence in science) that there is no excess risk of having a stroke following a chiropractic adjustment compared to a visit with a medical doctor.

A review of systematic reviews noted that ‘serious adverse events’ following spinal manipulation have reportedly occurred 1 in 1,000,000–250,000,000 manipulations

ANOTHER STUDY CONDUCTED BY A GROUP OF NEUROSURGEONS CAME TO A STRONG CONCLUSION THAT THERE WAS NO CASUAL LINK BETWEEN CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS AND STROKES. NOT ONLY THAT, BELIEF IN A CASUAL LINK MAY ACTUALLY HAVE SIGNIFICANT NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES IN OUR HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY, SUCH AS NUMEROUS EPISODES OF LITIGATION AGAINST CHIROPRACTORS!

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE SAFE FOR INFANTS & CHILDREN?

Recent studies have also investigated the safety of chiropractic care on infants, children, and adolescents. Preliminary reviews the scientific literature have indicated that gentle, low-velocity spinal adjustments seem to be a safe treatment technique in infants, children and adolescents, with encouragement for future research to describe effectiveness and safety of specific adjusting techniques, with severe poor outcomes to be relatively scarce.

DID YOU KNOW?
YOU HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF BEING STRUCK BY LIGHTNING TWICE, THAN BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED BY SPINAL MANIPULATION.

YOU HAVE A HIGHER LIKELIHOOD OF GETTING INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON THE WAY TO AND FROM THE CHIROPRACTOR AND BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED, THAN BEING INJURED AT A CHIROPRACTORS OFFICE.

JUST TO PROVIDE SOME PERSPECTIVE, HERE ARE COMMONLY PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS THAT HAVE DOCUMENTED INCREASED STROKE RISK from the Neurology Review April 2016

  • NSAIDS

  • Anti-Depressants

  • Statins

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy

  • Testosterone

  • Birth Control (webMD)

In order to provide the SAFEST, MOST EFFECTIVE chiropractic care possible, we conduct a thorough physical exam, orthopedic and neurological evaluation to rule out any life-threatening or pre-disposing conditions that may require co-management with the appropriate doctor or healthcare professional. We utilize specific, scientific technique application based on the best scientific literature to improve the structure and function of the spine, because of the INTIMATE relationship between the SPINE and the BRAIN
